Ray Suarez, Senior Correspondent for the PBS NewsHour, will be the featured speaker at St. Peter’s Church, 313 Pine Street, Philadelphia, on October 7 at 7:00.  Suarez’s recent PBS two-hour documentary, Jerusalem: Center of the World traced the roots in Jerusalem of the three Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, their harmony and conflict. Suarez will share some of his own personal reflections on this holy city and on the making of the documentary.

This event is hosted by the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem with the sponsorship of Philadelphia Theological Institute, The Middle East Study Group and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.  The evening will also be an opportunity to hear about the present situation of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and the response of two groups: the Diocese of Pennsylvania’s Middle East Study Group and the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, as they live out their Christian faith in the “Center of the World.”

The Middle East Study Group of the Diocese of Pennsylvania educates and advocates for the rights of the Palestinian peoples. The American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (AFEDJ), president Pheobe Griswold,  supports the schools, hospitals and health care institutions of the Diocese of Jerusalem.
